Sam
Woodside and Phil Parker formed their Architects practice
in 1985 and over 30 years have designed many buildings in
and around Perth and the northeast of Scotland, successfully
managing contracts on behalf of a wide variety of clients.
Commissions have differed greatly during the life of the
practice with
a portfolio of work ranging from nursing homes, individual
houses, flats, commercial and industrial developments. More
recently, a hotel extension in Pitlochry and ongoing works
at the Perthshire Visitor Centre in Bankfoot have been progressed
through the office.
Works
to historic and listed buildings have also been undertaken
and the practice was instrumental in recognising and establishing
Verdant Works in Dundee as a building of national importance
(Grade A listed) and as a museum of the Jute Industry.
Works
currently on site include a major extension to a Veterinary
Surgery in Livingston; a new office depot and workshop for
Paragon Profiles in Perth and a sustainably house in rural
Perthshire designed for clients with an autistic son.
We
have worked with Housing Associations, major house builders,
Local Authorities and the Scottish Office.
Sam
Woodside retired in 2004 and the practice moved from their
office in Charlotte Street Perth to Dunbarney Studios
in Bridge of Earn.
Principal
Phil Parker is also an Industrial Archaeologist and has experience
of recording and presenting information and proposals for
the reuse and reinterpretation our industrial heritage, and
is also a member of the Scottish Industrial Archaeological
Society.
Phil
was joined at the practice by new Director Gavin
Kirk in January 2011. Gavin studied at the Scott Sutherland
School of Architecture in Aberdeen and has experience working
in Scotland and internationally following a successful
period in Australia. |
